Perfect in Paris

I'm reluctant to share what we really thought of this apartment on rue de Nesle because I don't want it to become hard to book in the future! I have to come clean though and write the truth. This was one of the best experiences I have had in a rental property....from the booking experience, to the apartment itself. Samia, our booking agent at Glam Paris was perfect in every way. She made sure I felt comfortable with the booking process (since I had never booked overseas before) and was clear in answering my many questions before actually booking. The location of this apartment can't be beat.....everything was at our fingertips. Grocery stores, cute markets, pastry shops, Paul for baguettes, and cafe's galore. You could want for nothing in this neighborhood. The apartment itself was everything we could have hoped for and more. There was ample space for our family of 4. Our teen daughter and son loved having their own room and had plenty of space to spread out. The bedrooms were perfect...bathrooms, perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed. The apartment is located down the quiet, small street of rue de Nesle....not directly on a noisy major street....this is a major perk. We spent 10 days in "our" apartment and we have already vowed to go back. Great booking agency, great apartment, the great neighborhood of St. Germain.......we couldn't have asked for anything better! I only wish I could post all of our photos here! Many were taken within this sweet home away from home! Great first trip to Paris experience for my children......many memories made here that will last a lifetime. Thank you! (and we will be back!)

Charming indeed with unbeatable location
nubusnies  (United States)  - July 21, 2016

I first visited Paris in 2006 to celebrate my 25th anniversary, and my husband and I stayed in the 6th near Eglise St. Sulpice. When my adult son suggested a vacation that included Paris, I knew we wanted to return to the 6th arrondisement. My son thought it best we select an apartment for our 11 night stay in Paris, his midpoint location after our 5 nights in Venice, and before he took off to the UK for another 10 days including the Glastonbury Festival. An apartment in Paris has been on my list since that first trip, so I was fully on board. We investigated several agencies, and even thought of airbnb. Upon realizing Paris was clamping down on airbnb short term rentals, we decided an agency was the only way to go. We spent several weeks narrowing down apartments that would suit our choice of location and make us both happy with the décor. In our search, we came across Glamaparis, and the apartment at 11 rue de Nesle. Despite the time change, working with Lyazat and Paul at Glamaparis was easy. They responded quickly and provided us with lots of good information, including liability insurance which we took advantage of. The cost and coverage is similar to most travel insurance, but it also meets French laws requiring liability insurance for renters. Having the insurance eliminated the need for us to pay a security deposit upon arrival. Paul met us at the apartment and responded immediately to our calls when issues arose (the stall shower was slow to drain, but a plumber came on the weekend to fix it, and we locked ourselves out on the last day and needed a locksmith that Paul arranged). The apartment was exactly as it appeared on the website with windows that overlook the quiet rue de Nesle. The street is home to bookstores that are mostly closed to the public and is very narrow, so there is little traffic. Overlooking the courtyard, the bedrooms are of equal size with plenty of closet space, especially when compared to most Paris hotel rooms. There are two nice baths, but only one water closet which might be an issue if two couples are staying together. We did not cook any meals, but the kitchen was well equipped with a full sized refrigerator; we used it mostly for snacks. Shopping for groceries at the nearby Carrefour made us feel like Parisians, and we were pleasantly surprised at the prices which we found to be very reasonable. There was some construction in an upper apartment, but there was surprisingly only little noise at reasonable hours. The apartment location can’t be beat. We were one block off the Seine at the Pont de Neuf, across the river from the Louvre. This area is quite lively with lots of restaurants and cafés just down the street, not to mention shopping opportunities along both sides of Boulevard St. Germaine, so you definitely don’t feel like a tourist. Don’t miss the Gerard Mulot patisserie near the St. Sulpice. I’ve dreamt of his Pain Raisin for the last 10 years, and they are as good as I remember, definitely the best in the 6th. Walking everywhere is easy, and we averaged over 4 miles a day, plus took advantage of Uber for longer journeys like returning from the Adele concert (yep, we scored tickets, and she was fabulous!). We arranged an overnight to the D-Day landing sites at Normandy and are glad we didn’t try to do it in one day (see my Hotel Villa Lara and Overlord Tours reviews). We’ll definitely use Glamaparis for another rental, but I honestly don’t see us staying anywhere other than 11 rue de Nesle. My husband wants to come on this next stay which is hopefully very soon!

Wonderful apartment! Fantastic location
Paulette M.  (United States)  - May 18, 2016

This apartment was perfect! Looked like the photos, too. Perfectly located for sightseeing. We just walked out of apartment and a block over in one direction was the Seine and one block over in the opposite direction unveiled shops and cafe's. We also loved being few blocks from Latin Quarter.

We were there 22 days and loved being so close to everything. At the end of our (short) block was terrific art gallery and across the street on corner was a cafe.

The apartment is perfect for 2-4 people. The neighborhood was bustling but the apartment was quiet at night. No issues at all after we got the hang of how the washer/dryer worked. The showers were roomy. The water was hot and the pressure was great. The beds were firm and comfortable. Everything worked fine.

We highly recommend this apartment!! We would stay there again in a heart-beat... Samia, the manager was very helpful via emails before we got there and was very helpfull once when we were there.

If you have a chance to stay in this apartment, you will not be disappointed!!

Kathee W.  (United States)  - April 21, 2016

We couldn't have picked a better location for our 6 night stay. Less than 2 blocks from the river in a charming neighborhood full of shops. We stumbled upon wonderful street a couple blocks away with several sidewalk cafes and a band playing outside. The apartment itself was clean and the vaulted ceilings made it feel very roomy. The bedrooms do look directly across to another building so you may want to keep the drapes closed. We arrived late and were met very courteously by our host. Charming and convenient!

A month in Paris
Lorraine  (Canada)  - December 29, 2015

We had both a wonderful stay and exceptional customer service. This apartment is centrally located, and so convenient for walking strolling and catching both metros and trains!

Most important for me was the exceptional and considerate support given by Glamaparis - thank you Lyazat, both pre during and post our vacation. A simple thing like a worn out coffeemaker, replaced instantly and almost magically, or an offer to help us with our bags, contact during our stay to make sure all is well. This is what makes a good property great.

Gretchen Ramos  (United States)  - November 22, 2015

My husband, son and I stayed here for nine days in November, and loved it. The location could not be better - on a quiet side street in a bustling neighborhood and centrally located so that we could walk to everything. The place itself was perfect, super clean, comfortable beds, great showers and a really convenient kitchen. Layzat at Glamparis was excellent. She met us at the property, and immediately had someone there to help us when my 5 year old left the key in the inside of the door lock and we were locked out at 7 pm at night. An excellent place to stay in Paris.

This is a great apartment. It is compact in size but with enough space to manage. We were a party of 3 adults and a 2 and a 4 year old. Beautifully appointed, great facilities and beds are beautifully comfortable. 3rd floor with no lift, but not a problem. Customer service from glama is very attentive.

The listing was absolutely beautiful! It was clean well maintained and bright. The location in Saint Germain was perfect close to all amenities, restaurants, shops, museums and outdoor groceries. Upon our arrival we were met by Paul and he was ever so helpful. I have used GlamParis in the past and will continue to use them in the future...I would recommend this property to friends and family. The area is easy for walking, Notre Dam and the Luxembourg gardens are all nearby.

Love it.

Five stars plus for the apartment and the two sets of keys and the fresh linens and the free phone. We are planning a return trip next year, hopefully with you at the helm. Merci

My 3 children and I stayed in this fantastic apartment in St Germain for a week in August. It was perfect in every way - the apartment is located walking distance from Notre Dame and steps from wonderful restaurants and shops, yet it is tucked away down a quiet street so it was very peaceful and private. The apartment itself is beautiful with high ceilings, lots of sunlight, and new finishes. There are 2 comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms (with separate toilet), and laundry and dishwasher. GlamaParis staff was friendly and very helpful, and explained everything when we arrived. We loved our time here, and can't wait to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at this property!! It was a very comfortable and lovely apartment (Photos are accurate). The property is located in walking distance to many major sites in Paris. The neighborhood is wonderful for strolling--lots of shops and cafes and lively people walking around. There are bread stores/bakeries right down the street and very nice grocery stores are close by. Glamaparis (the management company) was excellent. They arranged for a driver for us and met us at the property. Their representative showed us everything in the apartment and made sure we were comfortable. I have recommended this property to others and would stay there time and time again.

Could not have been better!
Jonlee Andrews  (United States)  - June 12, 2015

Our family (4 adults) just spent a week in this apartment. It was absolutely perfect on every dimension. The experience began by meeting Julien at the front door of the building. He was very polite and helpful - showing us how everything worked and answering all of our questions. The location was amazingly quiet, even though it was in a popular and busy part of the 6th (just off Rue Dauphine, near the Quay). The apartment was spotlessly clean and laid out well - two ample bedrooms, two bathrooms (note - just one toilet), an open living and dining area that was a great place for congregating after a day of sightseeing. The kitchen was more than adequate. The weather was quite hot on several days while we were there...so it's important to note that, while the apartment does not have air conditioning, the windows in the living room and in the master bedroom, when open, allow a beautiful cross-breeze that cools the apartment. There are also ceiling fans in each bedroom. The apartment is just blocks from the RER B (at Saint Michel), so you can take the train from Charles de Gaulle to within just a few blocks of the apartment. There are a couple of metro stop nearby (5 to 10 minute walk), a Carrefour supermarket within a couple of blocks, and some of the city's best or most fun restaurants nearby (Semilla, Z Kitchen Gallery, Fish, Allard, Les Bouquinistes, etc.) We would absolutely stay here again; we would recommend it to our friends; and we will definitely use Glam a Paris again.

Great Apartment, Professional Service, 5 Stars
Eileen McGrath  (United States)  - April 15, 2015

GlamAParis representative Paul was perfectly prompt (he actually called to check on our arrival while we were still at the airport), very friendly and professional. GlamAParis provided us with a package full of information for the area and just in general for being in Paris, France (emergency numbers, close by banks, etc). The apartment is high quality, very quiet and very clean. Two washrooms with showers, one with full bath. A separate (and the only) toilet is in it's own small room with a sink (WC). Beds are very comfortable, we did not pull out the sleeper couch. This apartment is in an ideal location for walking to the most popular attractions and for strolling through small streets of Paris lined with shops and eateries. A large grocery store very close, bakeries and gelato (many on Rue de Buci, a 3 minute walk) as well as too many incredible restaurants to mention. We may never stay in a hotel in Europe again after this wonderful experience renting.

Stress free and rewarding apartment
Jenna N  (United States)  - February 11, 2015

BY FAR the best decision we made while planning our trip to Paris.

Samia was extremely helpful during the entire planning process. Samia answered any and all questions promptly. Booking this apartment was easy because of Samia.

Paul was wonderful. We arrived 4 hours before check in time and we were allowed to head to our apartment early (8am) so we could rest after our over seas flight. Paul was very friendly and professional. He greeted us at our door, gave instructions on how to get in the apartment (security code at the gate) he then further explaining the apartment (wifi, laundry, bathroom(s), television, ect.) He even had a book full of places to visit, restraunts to visit, the price points and rating included for each place suggested. I had a question regarding the television so I texted him and he responded within 5 minutes (amazing).

I have referred several friends to Glam Paris and can not stress how easy and rewarding their decision would be if they went with Glam Paris.

As for the apartment, it was stunning! Recently remodeled, new everything. (2) bedrooms, (1) with a bathroom attached. Great large shower. Large and comfortable bed. Second bedroom offers (2) single beds or (1) queen bed. Great option for people who sleep separate (we did the two single beds and it worked great) Very large amount of closet space. The second bathroom is a bit small but comfortable and functions well.

Compared to other hotels and apartments, I would say this apartment is very large. High ceilings which makes it feel even larger. wifi worked wonderfully,

The laundry was great because we ended up needing fresh clothes.

Overall great experience and can not wait to return and stay here again.

Great little apartment in the 6th
SarahTMelbourne  (Australia)  - January 15, 2015

This is a great little apartment in the 6th, close to all the tourist sites, and perfect for a family. We stayed here for a week with our two small children - too small to go out at night. We were close to a Carrefour and close to lots of great foodie places - so we could kit out our kitchen quickly. We did eat out a few times, and there are some great local brasseries (and some a little further away, but walking distance).

The apartment was great for two adults and two children, with enough space for the children play lego on the floor after they were exhausted from walking everywhere during the day.

The metro is very close (if you want to take the train), but almost all the major sites are within walking distance.

Wonderful location, perfect for us!
Aliza Bibik  (United States)  - December 29, 2014

We enjoyed this apartment and its wonderful location, as well as working with the Glamaparis team. They were professional and helpful throughout the stay, including responding to emails quickly and meeting us as expected upon our arrival. We had two couples and one child (5 yrs) in the apartment for five nights.

- The location is steps away from restaurants, brasseries, patisseries and shopping. We did go to do all the tourist sites as well, and the location of this apartment is perfect for either that or blending in with the locals. We were happy to get away from the crowds!

- It was clean and in good condition. US travelers should expect to have a smaller apartment and bedrooms in Europe. It met our expectations.

- Anyone who has mobility issues may have trouble getting up the stairs. I didn't see a lift.

- A little strange to have the toilet separate from the showers, but we have experienced this in other places as well. It wasn't an issue for us, just took some remembering.

- Location has almost no street noise because it's situated on a street with no other entrance for cars. I appreciated that a lot.

- We were there over New Year's so there was some noise from other units, but nothing that was a problem for us.

I would definitely work with the Glamaparis team again in the future without hesitation.

Just returned from a wonderful 10 day stay in this beautiful flat in St. Germain! This charming flat is located just off Rue Dauphine on a very quiet street. There are many great restaurants within a very short distance from the apartment and is just a block away from the beautiful Seine.

There were 4 adults staying in this flat and we all commented that the amenities and location were just perfect! Paul and his staff at GlamParis were terrific to work with and provided everything that we needed for our stay! I would highly recommend this flat and we all agree that we would rent this unit again!

Perfect for a family of four
A FlipKey verified reviewer  (Canada)  - May 14, 2013

I travel to Paris for work every month and stay in the same hotel in the 5th. This time I brought my family (young kids) and decided to rent an apartment and wanted to be in the 6th. Found this apartment through Glamaparis, spoke with Meghan, met up with her on one of my monthly trips to fill out the paperwork, could have easily done it through email but since I was going to be in Paris a few months before I visited their office. Excellent service, Meghan found another apartment for my associate for the same time period right around the corner.

This apartment was near perfect for us, it is right in Saint Germain which is one of my favourite areas of Paris, it was clean, comfortable and the right size for a family of four. The only thing that would have made this apartment better would have been a view, however the lack of view encouraged us to step out the front door and go explore the beauties of Paris.

We rented this apartment at the end of March. The weather was perfect and the apartment was too. Its in a great location. Only a short walk away from Rue de Buci and Blvd St Germain. The building is down a small street off the main area so its quiet despite being so close to a high traffic area. Very convenient to shopping with a Franprix and Carrrefours close by. Easy walk to Notre Dame and the Louvre. Lots of great restaurants are close by too. Great place for a family vacation.

A comfortable, quiet, well-located apartment
Don LaRue  (United States)  - November 7, 2010

This apartment is exceptionally quiet, being located on a side street occupied at ground level by wholesale booksellers. The beds are very comfortable and the decor is tasteful. Quality fixtures and furniture throughout make it feel more like a nice hotel suite than a typical rental apartment. The Glam staff is good-natured and on top of details: we had a faulty internet connection and it was fixed within 24 hours. Be aware that there is only one toilet, which is located just off the kitchen.

You could find everything you needed within a block or two. The metro was in walking distance for all the sight seeing you could take in.

Perfect Paris location!
Joe  (United States)  - June 19, 2010

The apartment was clean, quiet in the evening, had all the needed amenities (TV, internet, phone, full kitchen, washer/dryer) and was modern. There was a mixup for the bed configuration when we first arrived but it was immediately taken care of. The location could not have been better, about a half block south of the Pont de Neuf and an easy walk to many restaurants, shops, The Louvre and more. The only negative was an adjustment to the small bathrooms and the lack of air conditioning (it was a very hot week), they need to get a large fan for the living room. This is a second-story walk-up, no elevator. Also, the price was high but this was summer season and the location was prime. I would use again.

Great apartment in a great area!
CA lady  (United States)  - May 7, 2010

My sisters and I rented this apartment for a week. It was everything it was described as being and more. The apartment was clean, well equipped, comfortable and in an ideal location off Rue Dauphine in the 6th. The beds were very comfortable with lovely linens and good pillows, and the bedrooms had ceiling fans which were very useful in the hot weather we had. The apartment was far enough off the busy Rue Dauphine to be very quiet, but close to many restaurants, shopping, etc. Damien was very helpful and pleasant,

By contrast, my husband and I rented a studio for the second week from another agency. It was a big disappointment - cleaning was not included in the price, you had to take out renters insurance separately, they provided one bath towel and one hand towel per person for the week and if you used more than that they charged 4.50 euros for each towel. They had to be present at check out and charged an additional 50 euros to check out before 8 am. After all the extra fees, we would have been better off (and happier) staying in Damien's 2 bedroom apartment for the second week.

We will definitley recomment Damien's apartment and the rental service to our friends and family. A great experience.

my family & i stayed in this apartment in paris last spring and we had the time of our lives! in addition to being clean, comfortable, and well equipped, the apartment is centrally located and there is so much to eat, see, and do all within walking distance! in fact, we had so much around us that even with a full week we didn't get around to everything, but that is okay because it gives us the perfect excuse to return for another visit someday. i would highly recommend this rental unit and plan to come back again and again in future visits.
